I have an a20. Everyone loves the wake/pop and how clean it is, but what's the difference between the two? I know the 22 is more narrow, but how much more? 2ft...3? I've been looking to upgrade to a 22 due to extra space, but would like to know the difference.

Just let five feet more of rope out.

I would guess at a couple feet. Hard to notice until you go to jump and you can tell by your landing. As far as I'm concerned not enough to change my decision between a 20 and 22.

Can't compare an A20 with an A22, but a friend has an X2, and the angle of the wake is MUCH wider. So it gets really wide really quickly.

I would think the difference is fairly subtle...a difference but I don't think enough to add a full 5' section of rope. Just for comparison, my friend's have a 2011 Moomba LSV which I think is the narrowest wake out there in a 21-22 wakeboat class, muchless comparing the Moomba LSV wake width to a A22. The difference even though is night and day, it only justifies them taking off 5' off their normal line length to ride my A22. I don't think the difference between the A20 and A22 wake should be anything to really worry about. You'll probably adjust to it in just a few sets or a couple days behind it.

x2 with everybody else.

I ride 80' on the A22, and I ride 73-75 behind the A20. Not sure if the speed was the same because the speedo had not been calibrated on the A20. Anyhow, all things being equal, you will most likely feel most comfortable 5' further back on the A22 which is a good thing.

Agree with you AJ- the LSV is very narrow. Thanks everyone- I'm not upgrading to 22 just to get a more narrow wake, just wanted to see if there was a big difference.

I rode with Evan (VAStyle) a few weeks ago on his A20 up in Richmond. I felt the wake was maybe 1.5 ft wider. There have been other complaints of it being to wide. I do not think the difference is as dramatic as some say. I ride a 60 ft behind my A22 at 21.8mph. When I ride with Evan again ill bring my line and ride at 55ft. IMO every boat is going to be different. Not all boats will allow you to ride 80ft out at 23mph.

What's the water temps in your area? We are still 82-83 at Lake Belton in Texas
