I have 40 hours and my seats are coming apart . axis said they are made out of the same thing the other malibu are made of. axis said they have not had any complaints about the seats. am i the only one out there

I have an '11 A22 with 182hrs and not a stitch is broken and my vinyl is holding up well with no stains or tears.

I've had to replace the back bench skin. Mine was showing little holes from around the piping stitches. I'd like to see some thicker vinyl. I'm extremely picky about wiping down and conditioning the vinyl after every time out. I'm also cautious of people stepping down from deck/storage to bench seat. I'm hoping the 2013's textured vinyl is thicker.

For comparison, the picture I posted in the other seat thread is from 400 hours on my 2010. I tend to flip one of the corner seats upside down to be a step (unless its too hot).

We had an 89 Ski Nautique that we just got rid of this year to get a 2012 Axis A22. The interior in the Nautique was perfect after 23 years. All of these post about Axis interior has me a little concerned. We wipe down the boat after each use but do not treat the seats with anything. What do you recommend wiping them down with to help keep them in great condition? I always make everyone remove shoes before getting in boat but I am still worried when they step from dock down onto seat. I usually have a towel for them to step down onto. What is everyone else doing?

I dont allow shoes on the boat. The biggest problem ive seen is where the seams split at stitching
I use a meguiers uv vinyl protectant. Preventing people from stepping on the piping will help

I have my doubts whether this vinyl will make it 12 years

Mine are tearing at the piping from people stepping down into the boat next to the dock on the port side.

Mine are tearing wherever there is a hard surface with no foam underneath... I hope this is covered under warranty because i've felt like my boat is falling apart

I see some saying the vinyl is terrible and then my buddy with an 09 said his is still in good shape. so what's the deal with the vinyl pre'13. is it holding up if you're taking care of it?and it seems like several people are having issues with it tearing from the piping. will the vinyl being thicker really stop that from happening?

Well, you can add me to the list. From talking to my dealer, this is a 2011 only issue. They pulled the vinyl tighter on the 2011's, and they have seen a lot of issues where the piping is stiched on the 3 back seats. Which is where mine is tearing. Sounds like it'll be a warranty thing, though.
