Seems like that would save gas too. I have a hard time imagining the force from that little plate being equivalent to having an extra thousand pounds in weight on the surf side.

Since some of you have already chopped your swim platform I expect to see a prototype before the end of the season.. :)

there is a prototype on this forum already... the guy used welding vice grips to attach it to his swim platform bracket and made it out of plywood. can't believe it holds.
