Anyone have the standard carpet and notice it smells like S*!/$???
I pull it out and hang it every time I return to the storage. I've started running a fan inside storage unit hoping to alleviate the issue.

The upgraded carpet (woven tatami matt) has the same problem..smells like dirty socks by the end of the day.
Washing with mild soap and hanging it to dry helps too.

Hmmmm, never had a smell at all inside my boat...not the carpet or the rear storage with the sacs or even front bow sac area. I always open up my rear storage and remove the front cushion when I store my boat. Then again I don't run with a crew at all really, just me and my lady friend. I have the upgraded matt as well.

Is it very humid where you live? You're down by Houston right?

I get the smell too. If I have to cover it, Ill pull the rugs out to let them dry in the sun. I am thinking about installing a ceiling fan above the boat. We dont have anywhere to tie it up in the sun to properly bake the moisture out.

I have both mats and my tatami would smell a little after a long weekend on the water if I didn't pull it out every night. I bought the '11 Vandall carpet and the rubber bottom on it has a different texture and it doesn't smell if I leave it in. The bottom shouldn't matter though, I always take them out and hang em on a piece of conduit in my storage building, it gets hot enough in there to evaporate just about anything in a day.

i have the 2011 carpet and leave mine in the boat all the time. I will cover the boat a couple hours after we ride and my boat smells brand new.

Stinks pretty bad- I take it off and hang it every outing. Gonna try and power wash/spray anti bacterial 409 all over it. Starting aiming a fan at it when hanging in the storage.
