My tower speakers must have a short, they work most of the day but every so often they go out. It has happened every time while someone is wakeboarding and I have the sound turned mostly to the rear of the boat. Has anyone had this issue or know what the problem might be.

it could be your amp overheating. If they get too hot they will shut down cool off and come back on.

It is only the tower speakers that quit the rest of the boat speakers work.

We had this problem. When they installed them from the factory the holes for the speaker wire were not lined up perfectly. This caused the wire to be crushed by the clamps and then short out.

If you turn the volume down, do they come back on after a minute or two? Could be clipping. What's your gain set at? As others said, could be short in wire. Very easy to use existing wire as pull string and run new wire.

Low voltage will cause this as well- but this shouldn't be happening when riding. Check your power, remote, and ground leads at amp as well.

I had similar issue turned out it was cheap rca's replaced with a good pair and had no issue since

I have checked my leads to the amp and the RCA cables and it looks fine. Do you think the amp is overheating causing the problem.

I had a problem with mine earlier this year. Could only turn the volume half way up and they would cut out till you turn it back down. After a little investigating I found one of my crossovers in the can blown apart so it was shorting out. Unhooked the one speaker an all is well. Going to wait for the off season and maybe I can find a deal on some new ones when the next years model comes out.
