The rubber cap on the end of the extension pole for my boat cover began to rip from the weight of the cover and the sharp end of the extension pole. I caught it early enough where it only has a 3/4 cut. I think it had a lot of weight on it because I extend the pole to the tallest position to keep water from pooling.

I have a fix, or preventative measure for this and it only costs twenty-five cents:

Take off the rubber cap, insert a quarter into cap and push it all the way down and flat, re-install cap onto pole end.

You make need some adhesive, two-part, glue, whatever, just to keep it from falling off. I used some rubber cement I had lying around and it works fine.

Mines tearing also. Not sure if it would fit but I was going to try a crutch end. They sale them at Walgreens. I have bought a few in the last few months due a unfortunate miss step on a roof that led to a lizfranc fracture with a dislocation, just a bit FYI, most painful injury I have ever experienced! Any way Ill post size if it works.

sorry to hear about that... hopefully you heal fast enough to get back to work and enjoy the summer on the boat...

Let us know if that crutch end works for you, I will follow suit if it does.
