I have a LED tail light that's burned out on my 2015 boatmate trailer. It's one of the optronics recessed lights that's riveted into the frame. I wasn't sure if anyone has had to replace these or not. Is there a water tight seal in the box tube of the trailer for servicing or is it one long continuous wire that runs into the round connector found at the tongue?
It's just the 1 light that's not working. So i'm ruling out grounding. I cleaned the multipin trailer connector and did not have any luck. Since it's a weather tight sealed light I can't check any continuity. It's basically pull the light and splice in a new one. A new light only comes with a pigtail that would have to be spliced and soldered.
Any thoughts or experiences on this one ?
I don't think any of mine were riveted on but I have had to get some parts from boatmate. They are pretty helpful and their prices are reasonable. I'd call them and see what they say but have your trailer VIN number handy becuase that's likely the first thing they will ask you for.
