So tomorrow I'm closing the deal on a 2017 a20. This is my first inboard tow boat and I'm pretty stoked. I demoed a heyday over the summer and realized I needed a "proper" towboat. So this is what I ended up with up. Bought it from chessie marine in Elkton Md. now on to my question. Boat currently only has head unit and interior speakers. I've read all I can on speaker options and it seems JL audio and wetsounds are the best options. The boat does have wetsounds interiors. Referring to wetsounds, will I be satisfied with the icons or should I just get the revs. I was thinking the icon 8's or rev 8's. I'd like to be under 2k including amp. I won't run a sub right now but getting one amp capable of one pair of tower speakers and 10" sub would be great. Or maybe I might run all interiors and towers off of new amp and get another dedicated amp for the sub later. I've heard the head unit only does a decent job of pushing the interiors. As far as JL audio, I've heard all great things also. Any advice is appreciated. Model numbers and specifics are helpful also. Thanks guys and I look forward to tearing it up on the water. Btw, boat will be a 50/50 split of surfing and boarding.

Personally I would do a pair or rev10 run with an sd2 if you want good sound while wake boarding.

The interior speakers are not great but if you run an amp to them they are not horrible.

I would run a dedicated tower amp and buy a 6 channel amp for interiors and sub. I run a sd6 for my interiors, sd4 for my towers and a sd2 for my sub. Ultimate control and a ton of power...

I have a 16 A20 and run a pair of rev10s off a Arc Audio 600.2 and a wetsounds HTX6 for the 6 interior speakers and a 12" JL Audio sub. Run the stock wetsounds interiors until you blow them and then upgrade to the wetsounds Revo 6's and def go with a rev over the icon if wakeboarding is part of you're day on the lake.

Thanks for suggestions guys. Are you guys using seperate volume controls for interior and towers? If so, what device are you using? Fixed clamp or swivels on the the tower speakers? And also, how would I run RCAs from amp board to under dash? All I can tell would be up and through the bow access. And one more thing, are Revs too much for surfing? Ive had the boat 5 days and had it out twice now. I can see more surfing than wakeboard overall now.

I use a exile ZLD for volume control. Imo no rev 10 are not to much. I have the 410s and they are great for surfing as you don't have to push them to hard. And yes you will have to run rca cables from the deck to the amp rack (very easy and I did it around the bow). I did fixed clamps.

I have a wetsound sd2 for sale that would run the rev10 easily..

You would only need to run RCA's for a volume control but you don't really need one since the infinity head unit has 2 separate zone controls and separate sub control. All your your RCA connection points are going to be coming out of the brain box mounted to the black board in the port side storage where batteries are. Unscrew that board and you will have access to all your wiring. There is only one cable that runs from the box to the media screen. Did your new boat not come with the manual for the head unit?
