First day at the lake and we had a mishap with our 2013 Axis A22 w/Indmar 330 monsoon engine. Idling out of a cove the engine started stuttering bad, maintenance light came on, then the boat died. I tried starting it a few times and it would start but the run time would be less and less each time until ultimately it would not start at all.
After getting towed back to the dock I get the boat back in the slip. I tried starting and to my surprise it started and ran for about 20 sec. after doing this a few times it finally started running on it own without shutting off(maintenance light/alarm still on). I did not take it back out as I was scared of it dying again.
The maintenance code is SPN 94 FMI 17 From my research this is “Fuel pressure data valid but below normal range-least severe”
After replacing the fuel filter/water separator and the fuel pressure regulator I’m still having the same problem. Ran the boat in the slip for 25-30 min with no fuel pressure drop, steady 58.0psi. We pull out of the slip into the bay and the psi starts dropping and the MIL light comes on. Psi dropped to 5-6psi and eventually died.
If you let the boat sit for a few minutes it starts up perfectly fine with 58.0psi. After a few minutes of running the fuel pressure starts dropping and the engine dies.
Any suggestions?
