So by now there are tons of thread about ballast setups and we all agree the more weight the better and all the bow weight you can add is a huge bonus. I have a question though, I know many people such as Gibbs who have additional bow weight and 1100s in the rear prefer no wedge. I have 850s in the rear, a triangle fat sac up front and usually put my 200lb yeti on top of the bow cushions. When I have everything full with 4-5 passengers I have found that the wave seems to have a lot more push with the wedge deployed. I can only drop back about 5-8 feet with no wedge but I can drop back 12-14 feet with the wedge. Wave doesn't look that different but seems to have so much more push. Does anyone else feel like this? If I added additional weight that may not be the case but with they weight listed above that was my findings...

Also on another note. When I feel my bow bag I notice that after a few hours it will only be 1/2 full. Anyone know why I may be losing water, it doesn't seem to be in the bow so I am clueless where it's going lol.

Yeah I have the same setup and I definitely prefer the wedge, I can notice way more push with it, but I haven't found the right setup to get a better defined lip on goofy side, still playing with that.

My bow bag would do that sometimes too, it's created by a siphon from the bow being so high in the air, look over the driver side sometime and I bet you'l see water coming out. I ran my vent line up high behind the dash (there's a little slot of there behind the dash/bow wall) instead of down low near the fill/drain lain and made a loop in the line before it goes out the vent port and it hasn't had an issue auto draining since.

Several people placed one of these in the vent line so they can block water draining while surfing:

I know several guys that prefer the wedge so I think it's just a personal preference. I think if I rode regular I'd use the wedge more cause I think it helps with the regular side wave. I think goofy side is much better with no wedge.

That is an excellent point Gibbs. I do ride regular which is where the post came from but I can also ride switch slightly and I did notice that I prefer no wedge goofy. The wave is naturally better and longer goofy than regular so i didn't feel that it needed the wedge. when I add the wedge it's almost to steep and washes out much more.

I now use rubber folding drain plugs to plug my front and center drain and vent as well
As the surfside rear sac drain and vent, leaving non surf side that we partially empty alone to make further adjustments and when less full ythey don't passively empty. Those plugs along with the kinetic vents are real game changers that require no additional plumbing renovation

Yes but you lose that easy recovery with a foot shuffle and have to resort to a lot of pumping, I guess I'm lazy and would prefer to just move my back foot forward than always having to pump recover
