Weight is going to help this. I have a 2017 t22 with 850's or so in the rear and 500 or so in the bow. I noticed the front needs more weight if I fill up the rear sacs so I put 3 people up there, huge wave with a ton of push, I have new riders going ropeless after a few runs.

Interesting. I don't even know if I have a front balast. There is a switch for it, and the PNP pipes are there to add one, but when I kick on the switch, it only takes a few seconds and starts dumping - so I'm guessing there is not one there. On this pic there are 4 people in the front, with everything full. Any sacs in particular that are recommended?

Give wakemakers a call, they will get you all set up. When the boat comes from the factory the fill, drain and vent lines are all connected with a Y fitting usually for the front P&P bag, that's why your seeing water spitting out of the vent/overflow as soon as you kick on the fill pump.

Wave looks fine (a little smaller than my T23).

You just suck. Don't worry, you'll get it! The first time you have to get off the board because you're too tired because you've been surfing for 15 minutes is pretty cool.

Oh wait, you don't have ANY ballast bags? You'll probably want some of those. Most of us have one in each rear locker and one under the front seats. Nobody actually just surfs a "stock" boat such that in my mind stock is the hard tanks full, a bag in each rare locker and one under the front seats. The hard core guys start adding lead and bags on top of the seats etc.

It is easier to surf on a bigger wave, but with experience, that wave you're on is certainly surfable.

Congrats on the new boat and getting out on the water surfing!
You will be amazed at the difference in size and push of the wave once you add some more weight to the boat. Get on wakemakers website and better yet give them a call. You will need to order a bag for each rear locker and a bow bag. Theses are the plug and play bags. They are very easy to install. I have a T22 and went with the 825lb bags for each rear locker and the sumo 650 bow. Your bow bag will be a little bit different but you will want as much weight as possible up front. I typically do not need to fill my rear bags totally up for the best wave. I would estimate I usually run around 650 in each rear. You do not need to go with the huge 1100lb sacks. As you progress and start to figure out the weight set up it will also benefit you to eventually order a plug in pump and a 400lb or 750lb bag that you can place on the floor towards the bow / bow walkway. This extra weight in the center to front of the boat makes a huge difference in push and length of the wave.

Also as a big guy myself I bet you will find you want a different board.. I surfed what I think is the hyperlite shim last year behind a G23 and the board was super slow for me. I am a little heavier than you though. I would start with ballast bags for sure.. you will smile a lot once you see the new wave as it's a night and day difference.

When surfing a general rule of thumb is....weight in the rear gives the wake height...weight in the front gives you length.
Big guys need a bigger board !!!!!!!!!

I have a few boards.. my favorite is my custom soulcraft board.. I also own a red rocket (big but good learning board) and a phase 5 quest. I'm starting to the like the quest a lot and thinking if I was closer to 260 it would be a killer board.
