Just had my first trip out on my new A24, 409 motor, and was impressed with the fuel efficiency. My old boat was a 2007 X24 Mastercraft with 500hp motor.
I was a little worried about moving from 90 gallons of fuel down to 78 gallons, even considering putting in an auxiliary fuel bladder for Lake Powell.
But on our first trip out we used only 23 gallons traveling about 40 miles to our destination, at maybe 20 mph, and surfing/boarding for about three hours. This is better than I expected.

Glad to hear the fuel efficiency is good with the 409. Did you go through the break in period on the engine?
