I looked around and couldn't find and discussion on this so I thought I would start one. I have a 2009 A22 and there is nowhere to conveniently fit a large sized cooler. I would like to be able to have a larger cooler as to accommodate drinks and food for a larger crowd. I thought about removing the seat directly behind the captain's chair and replacing it with a Yeti 65 or 75, but I don't know what size would fit best in that location. This would provide ample cooler space as well as a seat, be as you can sit on top of that type of cooler all while being conveniently located. I intend to measure that area and see which side would fit best, but my boat is in storage right now.
Thoughts on my idea? What suggestions do you guy have for cooler locations?

Never heard anyone talk about gutting out a seat for a cooler. I think it would hurt resale of the boat in the future plus just look bad in my opinion.

I agree however it's only a few bolts and would not be permanent. I would keep the seat and brace to re-install upon resale or if I don't like it.
Im just curious want kind of coolers folks are using and where they put them. I like to keep the floor area as clear as possible while out.

I understand your frustration in the 1st gen A22 as there is practically no storage compared to other 22' boats. It didn't bother me as a big crew for me was 5 people in my previous 2011 A22. There's just no way that I can think of to get a big cooler as you mention into an A22 without putting it on the floor. Most of us used AO coolers under the seat.
