has anyone hooked up a bluetooth adapter to the stock sony head unit? Looking for some kind of simple adapter so anyone on the boat can play music via bluetooth without having to plug in by the driver.

I just installed the Bluetooth knob from Wetsounds. Works very well. It plugs into the back aux port. A little pricy, but sounds great and easy install and looks good. I would recommend it.

This looks exactly like what I was looking for. Does it work with the stock sony stereo? the website makes it sound like it only works with their head units.

Looks like it should, just needs power and ground and has RCAs to plug into the aux port

Did you try this?
If so, how did it sound?
May get one next week if you had good luck with it.

I wish Wetsounds would have made their bluetooth something that would integrate with the stereo so you could mount it on the transom and control volume and song selection. Nice design though and from what I've seen it has quite a bit of range.

I actually just hooked it up yesterday. They were on backorder everywhere. It works great and was a super easy install. Only bummer is when you turn the engine off and over to just the music setting my phone needs to be reconnected to the bluetooth. I need to rewire my stereo so it doesn't turn off when I turn the engine off so I don't have to deal with that issue. Other than that it sounds and works great.
