Hey gang just a general question and I am hoping that some of you guys may know this answer. Typically how many hours will a dealer have in the Dealer Prep part of getting a new boat ready for deliver from the factory. I understand that this will vary depending on the options of the boat but a ballpark or average is really all I am after.

I just want to know is that number closer to 5hr, 10hr, or 50hr? Thanks

It can probably be done in one day putting all the accessories and testing to make sure everything is in order. My t22 came in on a Wednesday and I picked it up on a Friday. It showed up to the dealership mid June and they were pretty busy with normal operations so I didn't expect to have it the day it came in.

My dealer picked my boat up on a Friday morning at the factory then drove back 6 hours to the dealership. They made it there about 2:00 Friday afternoon did a water test installed accessories plus the Z5 cargo rack. I was on my way home with it at 5:00 that afternoon.

I think it really depends on each boat. I have seen boats turned around in a day and I have seen other boats take a few days. I would rather see the guys take their time and get everything correct in a 2-3 day turn around(so 12-16 billable hours depending on what goes in the boat) than to see them scramble to get a boat out in one day. If they rush to get it out in one day you might end up having to come back the first full lake day to get a few things tweaked. With all mechanics. You are going to have some that are just pure bad A$$'s and they can knock stuff out in 1/2 the time with 100% better workmanship than other guys. I always hope that is the guy that draws my boat prep.. :)
