Looking at buying a new T23, I've read a bunch of the threads sorry I'm asking too, but wondering about the 350? A buddy had a '15 T22 and seemed like he slammed the boat and the 350 was always working hard. I surf with just 2 or 3 people, my thought is 1100's in the rear, 650 in the bow - 750 in the walkway and 750 on the floor in front of the seat. The question, is anyone running that or more with the 350 and loving life? I saw some posts of people with the 450 running that weight, and of course no problem. Not seeing that much weight with most people with the 350. Is anyone with the 350 running that much?
Dealer suggests 350 or 450, he says skip the 410 unless high altitude - we are sea level.
Thanks

If you are slamming as described above, upgrade the engine. 350 will be working really hard with the weight you are describing.

Plus wedge too when surfing. I don't think you'll like the 350 with that weight. You are basically adding 1500lbs extra which is probably around 10 adults (guys/girls average weight). I run 900's, 750, and two 800's on the floor sometimes with wedge at 600' elevation with the 409 with no issues on my A24. Again though, not apples to apples. Prop selection will be a factor in your choice but at what weight does prop selection not matter and the weight is just too much is the question. I don't think, plus I haven't read, anyone running the weight you want with the new geared 350. Tough call but the simple answer is the 450. Those 1100's don't hold 1100 and will not fully expand but you'll still get around 950-1000 maybe.

I have 16' with a 350. I run 1100's in the rear and full bow sac. All factory ballast full and a 400 in the walkway and another 400 in another in the cabin floor.1235 prop. I have no issues surfing.

Gibbs, how many adults as your crew? This could add up to what he's wanting.

If you're just going to surf with that weight then the 350 would be fine. I would recommend the Core Prop though. I had a 2015 T23 and loaded down with all plug-n-play (800s in rear) extra 800 in the nose and wedge in second setting for wakeboarding (never surf) and it would plane off with that prop and motor. So, if you're just surfing (not planing off) you should be fine.
