How does the auto volume work? I can not find a reference to it in the Sony manual. Am I misunderstanding what auto volume means? I assumed it would raise and lower the stereo volume with engine rpm or ambient sound. (from the options list on the boat "Stereo Option - Pack 3 (AutoVolume)"
Thanks for any input.

It takes signals from the tachometer and feeds them into the stereo's remote connector. As the rpm increases, it feeds 'volume up' commands. As the rpm drops, it feeds 'volume down' commands.
I really like it. Some seem to dislike it and I do not know why. For me I can have a volume that works when dragging a rider, and when I stop to pick them up, it gets quiet enough to talk to them, then back up when back on the throttle.

Most of us have it off. However, still nice to have that option so I'm glad Axis has it

I like it except for the BEEP when the volume changes. I really need to read the manual on how to disable that. LOL

I like it, and have it set on high for the most variance/response. Mine does not beep when changing...sure you're not hearing the cruise control beep? You access the setting through the in dash menu, not the stereo.

I had to turn mine off. It took me a month to figure out why it would skip tracks when I gave it throttle. It only did it with my phone hooked up. Weird.

hold both buttons on the gauge down and the menu will come up then toggle to the auto volume and turn it off

Thanks I don't think mine is on I will need to go through the menu and turn it on. I am always pausing or muting or turning the volume down when I pick up riders. Would be nice to have it automatic if it works well. Plus when I am riding I won't always have to scream to the driver to turn the music up!
