It's all technique in the Ollie, timing, speed, board, rider ability, ballast set up for optimal wake, try riding down the line still and not carve up all the way up the wake to air...etc etc etc. I'm still learning myself but getting better slowly (damn beer drinking and rafting up with friends gets in the way lol). there's a lot of factors that play into learning airs. My biggest mistake was thinking I had to do a big bottom turn to carve up the wave. Turns out I was just scrubbing off my speed that I just built up by pumping the board. One thing to consider, the Axis boats are not known for lippy waves, it does help to have a more lippy, steeper wave. Axis waves are fun skimmer waves.

Especially the last part! I'm learning that as I go. I still suck at ollies though.
