I have an A22 2014 VE and I would like to find an aluminum gear shift control to make my helm a little more classy and sophisticated.
Has anyone changed out and upgraded their throttle/shifter before?
Ideas on suppliers?
Could this be done by an average person with common sense?

I actually replaced mine with an eight ball gear knob I got from eBay, I found that if you buy the multi fit ones with the nylon spacers you can slip it over the original thread and secure it with the hex head screw supplied, round shapes worked better for me (after one failed attempt at a longer style). At the same time I used an offcut of one of the spacers to permanently hold up the release that prevents accidental engagement of FNR. I've used boats that don't have the lift up ring and it is so much more user friendly , 3 seasons now since I've done this and it's fantastic.
