I have a new A24. After the about 15 hours, the engine would shut down while under power. Did not seem to do it while sitting at dock in Neutral. Dealer went through and tightened all cables and charged batteries. Ran fine for another 15 hours and now engine shutting down again. Switched to second battery and it works fine. Any suggestions on what the problem might be? Thought it was a loose wire, but it runs on second battery so now I am thinking bad battery, connection on first battery, or in the switch. Also perhaps alternator not putting out enough charge and running down battery one. Any thoughts or other ideas are appreciated. Boat is great otherwise.

My 13 A22 has a voltmeter on the display showing how many volts the system is operating at. While underway mine is always around 14.1-14.2volts. At key on (engine not running) at 12.3-12.6 volts. The dealer should be able to run down the cause pretty easily whatever the cause.

I don't know if this will help with your issue, but if the boat is like a car its should run regardless of weather the battery is good or not. On vehicles the battery is just a storage unit for power, the alternator actually supplies the power for the vehicle while its running. the however many hours it takes for shut down will it start back after it turns off (bat 1 or bat 2). your problem still might be in that battery circuit but, it does sound more like a connection issue since the other battery is using all the same parts except for maybe a wire or two

Issue was resolved last season by the dealer. Bad connection to the battery by the factory. Dealer went through and changed out all the connections and not a problem since....
