I am looking at a 2011 A22 vandal.
The boat DOES NOT have the salt water package but says the boat was flushed religiously after every ride. Any idea of where to look for corrosion, etc if and when I look at this boat.
Im not too worried, as long as it was flushed properly it should be fine right? Boat only has 200ish hours

Thanks guys..

Just my opinion but there's no way I'd own a salt water use wakeboat even if it were flushed. Trailer is also a concern. There's just too many otger boats out there to get a salt water used boat if you are a fresh water user.

If you go with it, I would expect a further discount over similar boats used only in fresh water.

Among other things I would take a good look at
1) the trailer - and especially the inside of it. It might look OK on the outside but be rusting from the inside out.
2) look over the sacrificial anodes
3) look over the engine and as much under the deck as possible - corrosion on any electrical components could cause you grief down the road.
4) pull the drain plugs to see what comes out.

The trailer is anodized so not worried about that. As long as this boat was properly maintained I don't see why it shouldn't have a long life ahead. I guess I should note that it wasn't used in the ocean...more of brackish water. If I get it, it will never see salt again.

I would have no issues with it. I use my boat in the rivers here, but im so far south and close to the coast that when we go without rain the rivers can become brackish. My trailer has started to show some rust and the motor mounts have started to rust. I am religious about flushin and disconnect the hoses that go from manifold to manifold after each ride. If someone took care of it like I have mine I would have no issue buying.

I will be sure to inspect the motor mounts. The boat is a 2011 so I'm not sure it is going to show much sign of corrosion. Any specific things I should look at?
What is a sacrificial anode? Im new to the inboard game..

Just FYI. I have a friend that has a 2009 SAN that he uses in brackish water. Last year he had to replace his trailer. It completely rusted out.

What about the ballast? Filling and draining constantly with salt water.. Wouldn't that expose each pump to salt water corrosion? Any water that was in the bilge as well.. Electrical connections etc, hoses and ballast bags or tanks.. Something to think about I would think..

Just buy my '13 A20 and you won't have to worry about it! ;) Seriously though, I would probably keep shopping around. There are some good deals out there right now if you want more peace of mind.

I owned a Sanger v210 before my Axis. The boat was used occasionally in salt water and flushed religiously. It looked very clean! I bought the boat and moved to Colorado. It was about a year before I had issues: the trailer rusted out (bearings and all), the hydraulic jacks rusted, every screw that wasn't stainless rusted, I had to replace almost all of the wiring, and eventually sold the boat after replacing a hole in the oil pan from rust.

It seemed like getting the boat away from salt water didn't really stop the corrosion! I will not own another salt water boat!
