I am in search of pre-surf gate Axis so that I can stay in my budget. Should I order a set of surf tabs from wicked wake asap after purchase?

WHo would recommend using them for surfing? Other than the fact they are manual, what are the cons of these?

Thanks for you thoughts.

I think the manual also have the benefit of you can easily super-size them to benefit from larger ballast. The negative is that manual tabs (especially on reg side) affect the steering while recovering the fallen rider.

We use them because its faster to switch from regular to goofy and we like a level boat. The a22 can make a decent surfwave without the shaper though. If you need to switch sides regularly or need a level boat because of small children get the shaper. If not don't bother. Steering with it on does suck. Have to pulse the throttle to force water over the rudder and overpower the effect from the gate.

Looks like wicked wake is not the only option

I have a feeling we are going to be seeing more of this stuff come out over time. I have a ghetto gate and can surf when it's only my wife and I out. Steering is a pain but it's not a deal breaker.

Thats sick... but 10X more than wicked surf. At $3500.00 and a voided hull warranty. I think I'll just purchase a new boat?

I don't think it "voids" the warranty. Just voids it on the portion the equipment is attached or any damage caused by the non-axis equipment.

The big disadvantage is the swim platform greats a double lip. It makes it harder to Ollie off the wave and it has a large roster tail when you really weight down the boat. If ridden behind many before.
