We have been out trying to dial in our surf wave. We are still working on it as we are new to both this boat and wake surfing. So I'm curious to see everyones waves and setup as far as how much weight and where. Post pictures if you can. Thanks

Surfing the right side we have the Center tank full, gas tank full, right hard tank and PNP full, left hard tank full with PNP half full, wedge down for me (220 lbs) up for my wife. The surf gate open of course.
I know we are supposed to be able to weight it the same on both sides with the surf gate but I like it better this way for some reason.

what about the front plug and play? Do you fill that? I loaded my T22 all the way up. All three heard sacs and all three PNPs with wedge down and it seemed kind of sloppy with the surf gate engaged. thoughts?
We also had a heavier than normal load of people on the boat as well.... is there such a thing as TOO MUCH ballast when trying to get a surf wake?
FYI, I pulled up the wedge and it cleaned up nicely.

Also, surfing speed.... I see a lot of posts that suggests surfing at 10-11 MPH but, our wave runs best around 8-9. Any input and feedback is greatly appreciated. MY GF and I are both new to owning a proper wakeboard/surf boat.

8-9mph is way too slow, wave will be wash. Make sure your speedo is calibrated. Yes, you can over weight your boat. There is a point of diminishing returns on your wave vs weight....more isn't always better.

I don't normally load the front PNP, sometimes about half full. We're still experimenting with the weight. What I have learned is that if were in less than 8' of water the wave is crappy. At 6' it washes out and is about 1/2 as big.
Best speed is 10.3 for me and almost 11 for my wife.

ill have to check the speedo, thanks! because when I go much above (indicated) it starts to fall apart and get too strung out and weak looking.

I have also noticed the water depth thing. I was thinking it was my imagination for a while, or my fear of dinging the prop. I have been running full front (950 pounds) and center (factory). Wedge down. Full factory rears and still not sure where we like the rear PnP tanks. I have 750s in the back. I seem to think it was best around 1/2 bag, and maybe a little lighter on one side to give a slight tilt along with the surfgate. Running 10.8 mph. I had a few extra friends on the boat a week ago and the boat had trouble with the weight! Hard to get it to speed. Have Acme 13.5 X 16 4-blade, which is fine for wake boarding but I wish for more low speed torque when surfing.

So I'm curious ... I am trying to figure this out as we have a factory a22 and love it, but the surf sweet spot is too small. It isn't long enough or talk enough, as I have to out sooo much weight in the front of the board to accelerate and go rope less. I rode behind a T24 this weeknd with the front plug and play bag in and twin 750s in the back. The weight limit on my boat says 2115 lbs, but if I got twin 750s plus a 950 front bow sack, I'd be at 2450 without gas or passengers. Is it common to exceed weight limit? What is the risk?
