How many folks out there are running the A24 with the base motor. I seem to find lots more of those available that ones with the upgraded motors. Coming from a 325hp motor I was interested in a 400+ motor but I also realize that with the right prop you can do just fine with most boats. Just curious what folks think about running with full ballast plus plug n play with a full load of folks with the 350.

I've run full stock ballast, 900 Sumo sacks in the rear, wedge down, and 1200 in extra sacks on the floor with the 409 motor and the 2419 prop but only 2 people. However, 1200lbs of extra sacks is about 8 people (guys and girls mixed) so it's about what you're questioning about. Some say the 350 and 409 have the same torque curve in the hole shot rpm range. No one has real world numbers in actual boating applications to prove this though, just a GM chart.

I have 800s, 2419 prop, and the wedge down with the 350,6 normal size people seems to be about the max before I struggle to wakeboard speed, surfing speeds are no problem with 10-12 people. The wakeboard wake is above my skill level when maxed so I never fill it all the way.
