Hey guys,

I tried to dig via the search function on the forum topics but couldn't find anything helpful.

I have a 2010 A22 (non-salt series) and looking for a easy method to complete an oil change. Is there a drain plug somewhere? I have a electric pump but it worked 1 time and now it doesn't pump anymore (even with hot oil) and I want to avoid purchasing a new 50$ pump - I want to do it the oil way (drain plug) if possible.

Let me know :)

Mike

I think that 2013's have many fancy new things that I don't have... unless someone can confirm that I'm blind and that my 2010 should have one :)

Passenger side toward seat back is a 3/8 hose with a brass cap on it and it's clipped to the top bracket just behind the valve cover

Nice nice - you made my day knowing that I won't need that darn dipstick pump! Do I need the oil hot to drain from there or is it possible to drain the majority in 30 degree weather?

It's a hose screwed into the drain plug hole in the pan, I'm not sure if it will reach the bilge drain hole or not but it's worth a try.

Hope your drain hose is longer than mine. The end of the hose on my boat daylights flush with the outside face of the thru-hull. Makes oil changes extra fun. I shouldn't complain though, with the oil at operating temp it drained in under an hour.

FYI, dealerships pump the oil out via dipstick because it's easier and quicker. It's a one-time cost to just get the vacuum pump.
