Does your fill line have a check valve on it?

Mine does this exact same thing. Just this weekend I ended up taking my boat out of the water with my front ballast full because I didn't notice . I drained it out on the water but it must have filled up on the way back to the ramp. And yes it does have a check valve but there is no way of shutting the valve off.

A very few people have mentioned that they needed an anti-siphon loop on the front bag. I have a few extra 3/4" loops if you want one let me know.

Or you can just open and close the ball valve on the hull. It's what I have to do. Eventually I plan to replace with and electric valve and wire it to pump so when pump turns on the valve opens but ...... It's a one day project that might never get done

The check valve only prevents the water from exiting threw the entrance, it will not keep water out of the bag

yes to a check valve and upon messing around :o if i blow through the drain hose some water comes from the vent hose and vs versa, this is on a 14 so larger dia hoses, and speaking of hull shut offs btw i have not reached down there yet, How would i ever be able to service that pump looks like they built the boat around the pump? there must be a trap door?

If you pull up the carpet there is a trap door. But I mean there has got to be a better fix to this problem than doing that everytime.

I put one of my extra 3/4 inch anti siphon valves inside my storage comp (the one with the batteries) high up on the right side. This way, water can't fill the bag (because the loop valve is higher than the water surface) and also it can't back drain out thru the fill pump. I have yet to check to make sure it works but will on Thursday. Walter has done this mod and says it works. It was pretty easy.

I also switched the vent and drains around on the front. I took the "Y" connection for the drains and made that the common vent. Then I split the two drains into the two examining thru hull connections overboard. When I re-secured everything with zipties, I ensured the "Y" connection was the highest point and the single outlet was the lowest, ensuring a smooth overflow right over the side.

Like I said, sounds great in theory, we will see soon.
