The great state of CA <sarcasm> charges a few bucks to register a boat... but then they charge a 1% luxury tax around sept! I am not looking forward to that bill.

1% of what? Current value or purchase price?

Purchase price. But it declines every year after that - At least the tax on my last boat declined.

Ouch!!! It's around 50-60 in Texas, a season pass at the closest lake to my house is 180, but it's still a 2hr drive to get there, I hate being in a desert:(

Small lake that only sells 550 passes a year. Sucks but it is right across the street from our neighborhood. 1.5 miles from my driveway to the boat ramp.

Where about in Colorado? I just went there to visit my cousin, I made it to the grand opening of mile high wakeboarding in millican co. They had a few delays and didn't make their opening on Friday but the owner let me ride anyway for free since I drove 750 miles to go to a wedding and their new ski park, it's gonna be a really nice place when all their plans get finished...
