I have a 2013 Axis A22 and have been having problems with speaker buzz/whine when the "ignition power" is on or the engine is running. There is no noise or interference when in the accessory power position. I believe it may be due to the leads not being matched correctly from the boats power to the Sony stereo. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this without bringing the boat in to the dealer? I am also contacting the manufacturer and my dealer, but don't want to go through the trouble of pulling my boat out and driving it 3 hours to the dealer. The stereo is a Sony CDX-H910UI. Thanks

Is everything stock? Aka the way you got it from the dealer? I am guessing it is. It sounds like a simple problem depending on your experience with stereos.

Sounds like a ground issue to me

It is all stock from the dealer. They had this issue before delivering the boat to me and said they fixed the problem, but now after getting it out of storage, the problem is apparent again. I will check the ground out also. Thanks

I had some finicky issues with whine and buzz when I took delivery of mine. Ended up being Rca cables. May not be your problem but would be super easy to check. Just get some new cables and run them from your head unit directly over to your speaker amp and see if that fixes it. If it does then running new cables is not that easy or fun all the way around the bow.

Have you had any luck fixing the problem? I noticed yesterday that my wetsounds towers have a low volume high pitch buzz coming from them too when we are idling. It usually is a ground or RCA issue but I havent have a chance to mess with it and was wondering if you have found the cause of yours.

I have not had a chance to poke around yet, going back to lake on Thursday to troubleshoot. Spoke with an audio installer in the area and he gave me a few things to check out before bringing it in to him. One is all the ground connections obviously, the other is changing the "gain" on the amps to a lower level to see if this eliminates the buzz. He also said that if one of the batteries is not as charged and is pulling power from the other, it could cause some noise, try with just one or the other batteries on and see if you get same noise. The last thing was the RCA's. I will re-post after the weekend and let you know if I figured anything out. I also had a friend with a 2012 A22 that had some stereo issues and he brought it in to a place where all they did was hit the "reset" button on his Sony stereo, its located on the inside when you open up the CD compartment. ?? Not sure what that would do or what his issues were, but might be worth a shot.

I had this issue on my 2011 A22. I narrowed it down to two of my RCA connectors. I did not want to route new wires so we just replaced the RCA connectors. Purchased them at Radio Shack (solderless RCA plugs). Was a bit of a pain because of the tiny wire though.

Thanks. I just did the same thing. Narrowed it down to the RCA's and switched them out. Also, the knuckleheads who brought my boat out of storage and test ran it (also the same guys who winterized it) forgot to fully connect one of the negative battery cables to one of the battery terminals and that could have contributed to the noise. After tightening the cable on the post and switching the RCA cables, all is well.
