Guys and Gals,

Picked up my 2013 A22 recently. Great looking boat and should fit the requirements of my family for years to come. Glad to have it.

After the trip home I got out the cleaning supplies and started taking off the road grime (never fails to rain when I'm towing). I noticed numerous blemishes, scratches and small chips within the gel especially around installed hardware such as the tower, D-rings, seat hinges, etc. Figured that's life and didn't sweat it.

Went into the rear lockers to set up the plug and play and that's when I got annoyed. Several screws missing from brackets (all of which I found in the bilge), some not installed full depth, some over-torqued, one broken off and left embedded in the fibreglass beside four empty holes. When screws passed through gel they the holes weren't countersunk leading to cracks. Some aluminum trim was coming due to an insufficient number of rivets. I could go on.

Are these issues fairly common or unusual? Rookie installer? It doesn't affect the performance of the boat so its not the end of the world but seems strange even for a "budget" boat.

Enjoy the weekend, I will be.

You may have a few problems that aren't normal, but over all you do see most of this. Be sure to point all of it out to your dealer and they will get you taken care of.

Not that worried about it, just surprised. Other than the blemishes in the gel coat they are all easy fixes. Our boating season wont start for a few weeks so it gives me an excuse to be in the boat.

Plug and play plumbing is a bit of a joke and not at all like the post stickied in this section. For one thing draining the rear tank and plug and play bag into a T at the drain pump seems like a great way to introduce an airlock. And holy stiff ballast hoses batman, that 1 inch line may as well be annealed copper.

And the surprises continue.

Photos are oriented normally. Seems like a hoisting sling was used on the d-rings which may not have been torqued enough? Some pretty major stress cracks in the one photo.

Call me a complainer but my previous 10 year old, lower price point, I/O didn't have a as much gel damage as this.

Well I'll be.......that would account for the direction of movement of the d-rings shown in my photos. If that's common practice at the factory then something else contributed to the gelcoat damage since not every boat is damaged. Oversized holes, insufficient torque on the d-ring nuts or a combination of the two. Disappointing anyways. Sent off an email to the dealer I purchased the boat from but not word back yet.

Nice T22. Have any issues with it similar to mine?

Yes. Every boat is lifted that way. They water test every boat and that was mine getting the prop put on. I was actually allowed to walk under it and I was asking questions about the different ports on the bottom. Other than the stitching on the upholstery that everyone seems to have problems with...no. There were supposedly a couple of spots on the gelcoat that my dealer had the factory fix before I took delivery. I guess that's a benefit of living close to the factory.

You need to take these issues to your dealer!

I'd be Fing burnt!!! They actually delivered the boat to you with the d rings looking like that???? If that's the case I would have a call into axis corporate.

with that said I noticed you did say it was a 2013. was this damage possibly done while being on the dealers lot? 2014 production started last July. If that damage was there from the factory id really have questions for my dealer.

Ive noticed a few screws in my v drive lockers that are not fully tightened down. but it looks like if they did it would have pushed through gelcoat on the other side. not super happy about it but its something I can fix myself. I have a pile of spare screws, hole saw cuts, hose, thru hull, etc. I have found just laying around the boat. If it was out of sight it was out of mind when it came to cleaning up the boat after the build. just seems lazy for a company with such a reputation
