Well I maxed out the beast prop with the 330hp engine. I had the arrow full, 800lbs in fat sacs in the bow, both 900lb fat sacs full, three people in the bow, three others in the main seating, and full factory. No wedge.

Quick math here.

800 - factory
1600- rear fat sac
600 - arrow
800 - bow
300- bow people
400- main seating
=4500

It took it a while to plane.

My numbers are conservative too. There may be an additional 200lbs in there from gear and booze.

Honestly, it wasn't much bigger than other pics you have seen on here. The best wakeboarder on the boat prefered it smaller. It planed easier and was just as big. I think 3500 - 4000 is the sweet spot for the A22. Any more is not needed.

These are some pics of the wake on Saturday that my friend took. As you can tell, the wedge is up.

I agree with the 3500-4000 comment as that is when the A22's wake really starts to get big big, (depending on your ballast configuration and water depth…etc). But I disagree with the latter comment, at least in my experience on my water ways. I run with 4k and most of my riding is this way, but when we have a tiny crew 2 or 3, i throw the sumo floor sack down and the wake gets huge. Yes it takes a bit more to plane, but that 800 lbs is more noticeable from 4000-4800 than it is from any other amount (ex: 2000-2800). After 3500 or so, you get incredible returns with every 100 lbs you add, which is not very common with any other boat (except malibu's and last generations xstar). After 4000 lbs, as long as you do not add to the tips or rear, the wake begins to steepen (similar to a wedged wake, but better, firmer lip). The A22 with this set up feels very much like the A24 with about 4000 lbs in it, but the A22 is a tad bit wider.

You are right though, that prop doesn't even know that 3500 lbs of weight is even in there… it will pull that up all day long.

Tell me your exact setup then. I had 800lbs on top of the bow and 350lbs in people trying to get it to plane with the both 900lb rear sacs full and 600lbs of people in the seating area. I wouldn't mind adding more but it took over 30 seconds to plane. It felt almost like a minute and the tip took on water if there were any small rollers.

Mine is a little bit different:

900 factory
200 lead in the bow TIP (sits on top of the front U bolt)
SUMO arrow sack (under the seat.. guessing 750ish lbs, could be more or less, someone still needs to test the fly high and sumo sacks)
fly high 750's in rear
450 lead in cabin (100 behind batteries, 100 behind sub woofer, 150 under port side bench seat, 100 under starboard side bench seat)
800 sumo floor sack in cabin on floor.

4600 actual weight… if you go by the stamped numbers it is more like 4900 lbs.

With a rider in tow and 3 people in the boat, it planes just fine… 25-30 seconds? No problems dipping the nose when chopping the throttle. If we have a couple more people in the boat, we need 1 or 2 to run up to the bow in order to plane.

Are totals are close, you just have all your weight either in the bow or the rear. I had my set up like this for a while, then slowly moved weight towards the center.
