So I picked uo my 2013 a20 today, and when I got home and tried to back the boat into the driveway, the reverse lockout didnt work, I had to use the stupid little key to block the slider to get the boat out of the street and in the drive.

I verified that the truck is not the problem, Looked over all the wires in the folding tongue, nothing looks busted.

Where do I go next?

You may want to spray it down with some wd40 and pull forward and backwards a couple of time to see if you can't get it to engage.

yea I checked all the lights, they all seemed to be working....I was going to grab some dielectric grease to lube up the connections real good to see if that helps...but other than that I am stumped...

Make sure the reverse light is working because that is what turns the brakes off. Here is troubleshooting info from boatmate:

Had the same problem, brand new 2013 A20 wouldn't work without the clip. Dealer told me it was my plug-in first (need the 5 hole one or w/e), but we had the right plug-in, then they said it had to be the truck (after they had it in their possession claiming there was nothing wrong)...tried with 3 trucks and none worked. Took a brand new truck off the lot and still didn't work.

Took it in at the end of the year to get all warranty stuff done, they claimed they fixed it again (this time they said they actually replaced the spring mechanism in the hitch)...didn't work at boat place, again they blamed the truck...drove it 2 hours home and grabbed another truck (one that works with a malibu trailer), still didn't work.

All the lights work on the trailer, all the lights work on the truck...reverse lights come on when put in reverse.

^Whoa, that really sucks...did you or your dealer contact boatmate? I believe this is their main customer service number: (865) 273-1100

Thanks for that. I am waiting for the ice to melt around here before I start working on the boat again. I hadn't looked into the problem since the dealer assured me they would fix it last fall when I brought it in...now I'll start looking for a solution once the ice melts.

I had to bump my reverse fuse up 5 amps because one year my Malibu trailer would pop the fuse every time I went out. First thing I always check is the reverse fuse to see if it has blown.

I had to bend the connections on the plug from the trailer. For some reason the reverse wasn't making the connection.
