Those of you with aftermarket tower speaker set ups that are heavy (i.e. Rev 3some); how much sway is in your tower when riding?

I have a 2012 A22 w/ V-tower and put 4 Rev10s on the tower and notice a lot of sway now due to the extra weight. I think the 3some weighs even more and I know a few of you have that set up.

I have swivel clamps on the exterior 10s so I can raise/lower the tower with a little more ease. How much torque do you put on those clamps when attaching the speaker? Seems like they have to be really tight or the speaker itself has a little wobble too?

Feedback?

I have 4 XM9's and I have no problems.

Although they are probably lighter than the Rev's. FYI. I wouldn't worry too much about it. You can however get som rubber pieces to go under your clamps that will help keep them from wobbling.

I have a pair of rev410's up there and have not noticed any sway. Have you checked that everything is tight?

Pair of Rev10's and a 410. No problem with weight, but if you do go through heavy chop on lake they can shift if you don't have some rubber between clamp and tower. I used black garage door rubber liner. Cut it and line the inside of clamp area and they'll stay pretty snug.

The only wobble I've had are the actual screws attaching the speaker to bottom of clamp attachment. When you remove rev10 from swivel clamp there should be a couple screws securing bottom part of clamp attached to speaker. If these get a little loose, the speaker will wobble. It won't fall while riding because it won't back out to being attached to top part of clamp if that makes sense. apply a little blue locktite to the threads and you're set

Yeah... mostly I am seeing the tower sway. I installed all of the equipment myself and used locktite on the bolts. I also used the proper rubber pieces WS provided for the tower.

Went out the other weekend again, and noticed it... maybe i am just paranoid, but i never noticed the tower swaying before.

Heck with it... party on because it's a done deal, right? :)

Have you checked all the bolts on the tower as well as the ones going up through the deck to the tower from the underside? Make sure everything is good and tight. There should not be movement more an an inch or so tops.
