Hey folks, just playing around with some options for a 2014 axis A22.

I know i will be putting a different stereo set up in the boat. I have no issues with the amps, however i dont care for the look of the alpine cans or any of the other speaker options. So the question is should i order the boat with the factory in boat speakers installed and subwoofer. Then just pull them out and put in some exile or samson. As for the tower speakers put some wake surf exile cans up there?

What do you guys think about cost? Would it make more sense to just order the boat with no stereo gear at all then start from scratch? or order it like i said and just sell the factory stuff to recuperate some of the cost?

How does the boat come if there is no stereo installed, has anyone done it? do you have to build your own amp rack, sub box etc.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Kirk

Yes you can opt to just get wiring and no stereo. If I were ordering again that would be my preference. Then put your own components in there. I chose Exile but that was just me. There is a similar thread on here some where that I think AJ started it will help also. Good Luck.

We ordered with stereo pack 1 which includes the sony deck and 4 alpine in boats. I am designing a custom install but wanted the deck already installed and the holes already cut in the main cabin. Talked to my dealer and a professional stereo installer and both agreed that the sony deck is a good starting point for a custom install.

If you order the boat with no stereo, does it come with the wires fed to all six speakers? Does it have a amp rack and a sub box ? Basically just wondering if its as simple as buying everything and just connecting wires to the components?

thanks

The way that i understood it was if you order with no stereo you have to specifically ask them to run the speaker wires (I don't know if there is a charge for this) They do not cut out the speaker holes in the vinyl or in the fiberglass. It definitely does not have an amp rack (it does have the raised rails to add an amp rack to) and it wont have a sub box.

Does anyone have any rough numbers on how much the stereo systems are? I'm sure they change a bit depending on the location.

Thanks

Your Welcome! The lower # is dealer cost and the other is suggested retail price. I am in the processing of ordering one now and have found that my dealer is somewhere between msrp and cost.
