I just measured my bolt and it was 1.5 inches long. The threads are 1 and an 8th long.

I had that plastic one on my old malibu and it broke so I would recommend the metal one if it fits.- http://samsonsports.com/shop/quick-rele ... or-handle/

I was using one of those exactly for a bit. Decided it as too annoying and did a windshield mount for my ptmedge which puts it in a bit of a better position anyway

Ron, so your saying that the thread and pitch of the Samson mirror bolt will work in place of the bolt for the axis tower mirror bracket bolt?

Sorry...didn't mean to be confusing...

I had a tower mirror arm and because of my garage height had to remove it every day I took the boat out. I initially used handles like those above, and then moved to knurled knobs like the ones in the link below. As far as the thread pitch and length I just took the screws out I wanted to replace, and went to a hardware store with them to match u what I needed to order.

I eventually sold the mirror arm and just use a windshield mount from PTM edge which is made specifically for the axis windshield.

The knobs worked great though....they were just hard for my wife and she made a decision I had to agree with!

gotcha as I too must lower/remove my mirror every time I use my boat I was looking for a faster release then digging around in glove box to find the single hex head wrench to loosen/remove the mirror bracket. I thought someone from this forum tried/used these before but couldn't remember specifics exactly
