Hi guys

Anyone had any problems trying to drain their fuel tank? I'm getting ready to put my boat into heated storage, and they need the gas tank empty. I can't seem to get the hose into the gas and I have three quarters a tank of fuel. Is there a screen over the top of the tank? I couldn't find anything in the manual??

Find another storage?

You can access the gas tank under the bench seat and maybe pull the fill hose off.

What about pulling the floor and taking the fuel pump out? Then pump out from there? Not sure if that would work.

Find another storage. It will take a fully evolved fire to get that to burn. Hopefully the unit you plan to store it at has sprinklers. If so, the insurance companies usually dont care what is stored....being short of a unit filled with tires or flammable liquids.

If this is a 2012 or newer, unclip the high pressure fuel line and just pump it using the engines fuel pump into a container.

If this is older than a 2012, do the same but with a pipe hooked to the top of the fuel pump.

Legal bit:
If you don't know how to and/or are not trained to do this take it to a dealer who is. Malibu fuel systems should only be worked on by Malibu and Indmar trained technicians.

I appreciate the comments. I stuck with it and did get one of the magic syphens and hooked it to another piece of garden hose, and then attached a hand pump to the end of that. Still took over an hour of a combination of syphening and pumping to get the gas out. Man, I won't be doing that again. And it's quite a process to even reach the fuel through the fill hatch.
