My bimini is coming apart from a seam where it hooks around the tower swivel. My dealer is saying that Malibu won't cover it because the tag with the P/N etc is no longer on the bimini. The boat is still under first year of warranty. This seems odd to me...Anyone else run into this issue?

Call Malibu if the dealer is giving you trouble.

I think i will just call Malibu myself. The dealer has been great with all other issues that i have had so far which is why this surprises me.. They are just pinning it on Malibu. Its SMG here in Houston. I havent pushed the issue much yet, just seeing if any of you guys have had a similar issues like this.

Damn- sorry to hear that. I bought my 2011 A20 from them. I haven't had but one or two service issues, but they've come through for me (rear seat skin and maintenance) I've got a contact over there and may send him this link if ok with you.

Let me know-

Malibu will cover that with or without a PN number showing. Call Malibu or just get with the dealer again.

Is there problem that you've pulled tags off and that has damaged the stitching or that because a label is missing that it's unwarrantable?

The latter makes no sense but I can see the logic in the former.

If stitching failed under normal use then it's a warranty, simple as that!

Just an update for you guys. Apparently Malibu contracts with 2 separate Bimini companies (Great Lakes Boat Tops & Apex). Without the tag it was a shot in the dark as to who made it. Worked with the dealer and got ahold of Great Lakes and they agreed to fix it since the boat was only a year old. Upon me sending pics to them, they told us that is not their Bimini (they don't put the logo on biminis that they make), it is an Apex. Back to square one and we are hoping Apex is as accommodating as Great Lakes was.
