Hey everyone,

My A20 is throwing an error code soon after startup. The very first time it started happening was right after some clunky shifts from neutral to idle. However, I can't seem to reproduce this anymore, and aside from the error code, it's running fine. I'm not out there wakeboarding behind it or anything, but I've done some troubleshooting and can't reproduce.

Is there a device I can purchase to hookup to the boat to get diagnostic codes? I'd like to see if this is something I can fix myself before wasting 3 weeks of summer while it sits at the dealership for service!

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Walter! Any way to stop the beeping/alert from continuing until the next time I turn the engine on?

Not that I know of, did the shift linkage get loose?

I have a buddy that has a reader he can hookup to his laptop. It looks like the electronic throttle control had an issue with only 1 single occurrence. We have not been able to reproduce, but it happened on a very wet rainy day when there was quite a bit of water in the boat. I'm not sure what could have happened, but we cleared the code and it is running great as it has been. I guess I'll have the dealership take a look at it next time it's in for service.

just out of curiosity would a generic OBD II scanner work or is it a different interface? since the engine platform is a basic GM platform? or I even have access to a tech II

The connector is different, I thought the same thing too, the connector is a rectangle shape by the oil drain hose, it's similar to the obd2 plug but marine specific
