I am still holding out hope they make a retro fit kit or I may be looking to upgrade the 2013 already!

No retro kit I hear due to the re-enforced transom needed for the surfgate.

Looks fun (had to mute the volume lol) but as with all surfgate waves...theres no firm lip and the wake is shaped more for skim style, not for surf style. Saw a VLX with surfgate that had a good lip on its wave but I'm not getting a boat that small. Seems the way to get the surf style wave is to fill both rear hard tanks, both rear PnP sacs, and a medium sized crew or large extra sac on surf side. I still haven't ruled out Bu' in my future.

I so tried to talk myself into a $85,000 MXZ 22, but then I realized that the Axis will do everything and more than I could ever need. Yea the MXZ is nicer and has all the touch screens, but no one really cares and Hey Axis has SG NOW!!!!!!

These next 4 weeks are going to go by SO SLOW.......

that was stock ballast he doesn't have the extra sacks so im sure if he had the weight it would be surf style but for just stock it was nasty better then my 5000 pound axis

Found a YouTube video last night of a Malibu LSV with surfgate and both 750's added to the rear filled. The wake was nice.

Would love to have Surf Gate on my Axis but it's not worth the expense of buying a new boat. I don't mind sitting in the sun filling my ballast tanks! There could be worse things! Besides from what I understand you can get just as good of a wake without surf gate the only thing you can't do is switch from regular to goofy on the go right?

True.
Surf gate on new Axis coming out and it will not be able to retro fit older models.
