I was told that it is possible to surf in a 2013 A20 with no sacs? I have a 2011 A20 but havent tried surfing as I dont have any sacs or board yet. Is this possible in either boat with no sacs?

Thanks

It would be possible if you had some people but the wave would not be that good.

I don't think so and never heard of that. Maybe you could get it to work for a small kid but probably not an adult. The 2014 models have an option called surfgate that could make it possible without extra sacks, maybe that's what you are thinking of.

I was able to surf my A20 with just the stock hard tanks last year. Gibby is right the more people in the boat the better, make sure they all sit on the surf side and you'll have to play around with the wedge and tank set up a little to find what works for you. It will be a lot easier with a bigger board too like the ronix duke or hyperlite landlock. I used the landlocked when I did it, again it's not the greatest ride but it is do-able. Good luck!

Sure it's possible. My friend has an 2011 A22 and surfed a almost 2 years without any sacs. However, he literally had 9-12 people on his boat at all times. I think having that many adults in a boat is a bit much with most wanting to ride and then just the crowd, the cooler, can't please everyone, who's turn is it, crap everywhere, and excessive feet on the seats. Get some sacs and enjoy your boat more with less people. Also, you're 2011 has the crappy platform, the 2013 has the better platform for surfing and the wave is very different. I upgraded my 2011 A22 platform to the new one and it surfs like a different boat.

Yes you can. My kids surfed last year with no sacs. I filled one side of the rear and center tank and put the wedge down. Keep in mind that they are teenagers and weigh about 125. We also had everyone else get on that side of the boat. Usually about 4 people and three of those were kids.

Depending on dealers it can range from $1100-$1400 to include the freight on the new platform.
