Curious if anyone knows if this mirror arm becomes the high point (as opposed to the windshield) when the tower is down? Anyone know by how much?

New owner of a 2013 A22 and determining if I could use one as its a tight fit already getting into my garage.

Thanks!!

I'm not sure how much but another member has to take his mirror mount off every time it goes in his garage, I put mine under a 7' door and I have about 3-4" clearance going in, I opted for the windshield mount PTMedge mirror

Ae you saying a couple inches of clearance with the windshield mirror?....or that's what you had prior to changing to the windshield mirror?

That's with the windshield mirror folded down, total clearance to the top of the glass is 3-4". I can post a pic tonite

I have an A20 with the mirror mount arm and it just fits under my 8' door with the tower down. I don't have to do anything to the arm and barely brushes the weather stripping on its way in. I also have the single axle trailer, so I'm not sure if their is a heigh difference on the tandem axle.

Damn.....well my door is 7 ft so I doubt it will fit. The dealer said it breaks away for this reason. In pics it looks like bolts.....does it really break away easily?

It is pretty easy to take off.. just at the top of the base tower clamp there are three allen head bolts, no big deal. Also, I can leave it on and squeeze under my 8' door by simply pushing it down about 3 inches (rotates on the tower slightly).

This is what I mean by leaving the arm loose and pushing it down

Image

It goes below the wind screen
