If storage, your lake, and your budget will allow for it, A22 all the way. If not, the A20 is a great boat, was able to wakeboard behind an a20 immediately after an A22, both equally weighted with about 3800 lbs in them, and the wake is excellent.

Go do a demo, try to take with you the amount of people that you will normally take in the boat with you, demo the A20 and A22 with the group and it will help you decide about which size will work for you.

The A20 is lighter, easier to trailer and store, better on gas, and the 335 with the Acme 1235 will be plenty for whatever you throw at it. It has a little bit steeper wake, barely, and it is a little bit wider as well (rode 77.5' where I normally ride 80' in my A22 at the same speed and the wakes felt like the same width. I think it is because the tow point/tower is 2' farther back on the A20.)

A22 rides smoother in rougher water, is 2 feet longer in the cab (same swimpad length and bow lengths), more storage, will feel less cramped as you add people, and the wake is has a little longer transition. The 335 with the 1235 is enough for %95 of us, some people will need the bigger motor with that prop, or have to prop up even more, but you are talking about using the wedge plus 4000+ lbs and a full crew.

Have 2 friends with A20 and regretted their decision. Both have no lake restrictions, both have big storage buildings, they just bought the wrong boat. As stated above, if you can afford the A22 and nothing else is holding you back get the A22.

If you ride with a crew of 4-6 people all the time and you throw a medium/large cooler on the floor of the A20 and there goes a big portion of your floor space and it gets crowded quick

I went with an A20. I usually ride with 4 people and will occasionally have 6 but that's pretty much it. I want to store it in in my garage so I can avoid monthly storage fees. I was able to throw in all of the upgrades that I wanted, and still keep the price within my budget. The A20 just made sense for me. I'll still have the amazing Axis wake without wishing i had upgraded to the bigger engine and 1100# rear sacs, which is what I would do if I went with an A22. If the extra money isn't an issue, and you usually go out with more people, you won't regret having the extra space.

Thanks for the advice! I don't want to look back at the end of the season and regret saving a few thousand dollars.

I was just in the same dilemma is you and decided to go with the a22. I sat in both and really felt that the extra floor and seat space was worth the extra $$. The other nice thing is that the a22 comes standard with a dual axle trailer, so that was another bonus.

if you read the forums, you don't hear a lot of people saying, I wish I would have gotten a smaller boat.......

good luck

True that. I'm actually for an A24 surf edition to be made.
