I'm interested. How much will it hold comfortably (with ice). How long is the ice lasting? And most important how many $$?

I was pretty excited until I saw its just open on top. I wouldn't think that will hold ice very long at all.

Definitely wouldn't hold ice down here in Texas.

Ice would last an hour in Texas at best plus it's not insulated but that does not matter without a lid. I most definitely appreciate your efforts.

You do realize that the seat cushion is the lid. 1/2 plastic base covered with 3" of foam and upholstery. A second lid would just be redundant. The seat base seals up tightly to our piece. I do agree, a fully insulated ice chest will hold ice longer. But with the size of the area we had to work with we were limited. We use similar ice chests in our area with 100-105 degree heat and it lasts all day.

I was thinking the seal between the cooler and seat really wouldn't be good, but maybe I'm wrong on that.

I'd just use a small piece of rubber molding around the top to make it air tight, then you'd be good, thanks for sharing this cooler, I'd buy one but my wife just got me a Yeti for my birthday.
