This forum is great. I have been reading through to get insight for my 2013 A22 build. We are a primary wakeboarding family with occasional wakesurfing. Freshwater only. My dealer is not very knowledgeable about the different options that are available for the 2013. I have seen the lists in the forum that are available. I have a couple of questions:

1. Can I have the factory set up the PNP with the 750 rear sacs and 400 front? Would you?

2. The cinco prop and the high altitude prop aren't the same right? We are at 1200-2300 ft, with the stock engine and full ballasts, should I just opt for the cinco?

3. What 2013 options would you not build your boat without?

4. What is the battery and tire levy?

First, congrats on the new tug, you will love it. The guys on here are very knowledgable and will give you their differing opinions on a lot of things, but it is all good advice.

1. I opted to set mine up myself. I think that you can have your dealer do it for you if you work something out. Not sure if the factory does this. As long as you know basic tools, you can easily do it yourself and I would definately recommend you do it for many reasons. One reason is that you will know it was done correctly, the exact way you want it, and another is you will have greater knowledge of your boat in case you need to troubleshoot or fix your ballast. Plus you will be able to help others somewhere down the line with their ballast.

2. Correct, OJ Cinco 5 blade, high alt is the ACME 1235. Both great props, opinion on which is better bottom end has been conflicting a little bit, but they are very close on bottom end/whole shot. Top end the cinco has a few mph's over the 1235. Both are great props, the cinco is harder to get off if you ever need to pull it as standard prop pullers will not work on this 5 blade and the ACME 1235 is a little bit cheaper.

3. I can't help much cuz I am not familiar with all the new 2013. White tower if that will look good. Bimini, GREY boat cover (not black), chillax seats, plug n play, tower mount mirror (then pull the mirror off the arm and flip it upside down, it works better). those would be my only must haves.

I had read your reason for doing it yourself (the PNP write up here on the forum) and that makes sense. Especially like the guy that had the leak in the bag. Knowing where to disconnect and use it like an additional bilge pump.

I like the idea of the grey boat cover. I will look into that.

I will probably just stick with the high altitude prop. The local dealer says everyone uses those on the Malibu's they sell.

You should just buy my '12 with the ls3. That way you won't have to worry about what prop to put on at altitude!

I know, CWake, your boat is sick. It actually has everything I am looking for. It is a bit over my max budget and the transport shoots it even higher.

CWake, did you notice with the previous boat (black A22) that the boat got uncomfortably hot in the sun because of the black color? I didn't know if the black color would make it so much hotter that it might be a problem with the kids jumping off the sides or bow.

No, the black did not get all that hot. I have two small kids, and it was a concern of mine as well. I did notice that it was much harder to keep clean than the white. Also, the interior gel being black picked up a lot more scratches from boards, coolers, etc. I'd consider going back to black in the future. There are pros and cons of both colors. Best part of white is that if you get a scratch or ding, it's super easy to fix and the gel repair will not flash.

As for my boat, there is some room on the price (but not a whole lot). Sounds like you should just fly down to tn, take a factory tour, meet my friends over there, snag my boat, and head back to the west coast for an epic road trip! Hahaha

Oh, and you should get the deck track stuff on whatever you buy. No matter the color, the non-skid stuff will be black anyway, so the color of the gell is not that much of a concern for jumping on and off the boat.

^+1 on the Deck Trac. I originally built my boat without it and ended up calling to add it a few days after I put the order in with my local dealer. I already know how often it will come into play..money well spent.

3) I would not build my boat without: Bimini Top, PnP, Driver's bolster, Battery switch, Depth finder, Deck Trac, Racks (fixed or swivel), or Auto-Set Wedge. I ended up adding the underwater and under seat lighting because I go out at night a lot. The Stereo Pack 3 WetSounds system was also a must for me, but I'm sure a lot of people could do without.

If you know your way around installing amps/speakers, I'd opt for no stereo. DIY and save a ton. Battery switches are another easy item to do yourself, especially if you run a couple of large batteries for the stereo bank.

Factory installs the pnp plumbing, you or the dealer install the bags. Not sure if the original post was a typo, but you do not want a 400 lb bag on the front. The boat needs way more weight in the front, especially if you are putting the 750s in the rear. The front pnp bag is 950 fills to about 625 under the seats. Also, at that altitude, you will not be able to plane with all ballast and wedge down. I'm at about 1000 ft and I have to fill my 750s only about 2/3 full at max to plane with the standard motor. You may want a bigger engine if you use a lot of ballast.

The dek trak and Bimini are absolute must haves. I went Vandall package myself which includes most of the best upgrades.
