Here's the update on Malibu's assessment of the cracks in the hull. They have determined that the hull has structural defect and cannot be repaired. On Tuesday, I was advised that a new hull is being built. The top will be removed and engine and top will be installed on the new hull which will maintain the same VIN.
It seems like a lot of work but if it fixes my problem, I'll be ok with it. Hope they do a good job putting her back together. Hoping the new hull has the new 2016 surf gate actuators.
Unfortunately this has been in process for seven weeks now and the hull won't be ready for 3-4 weeks. That's a long time while I make boat payments to my lender. At least Tommy's- gave me a 2013 Malibu LSV until this gets completed. I can tell you that I like my Axis way better. Hate the computer and digital screen for ballast. One thing I really like is hydraulic wedge, it does allow you the make fine adjustments to wake shape. I'll let you know how it all goes when I get the boat back at month's end.

I doubt they will put the new actuators on your boat as they are not compatible with the rest of the electronics in your boat.

A 2013 LSV does not have a hydraulic wedge. They have the standard Lenco actuators.

Keep in mind also. While you reported it seven weeks ago a lot has to happen before the decision is made to return a boat to the factory. Unfortunately it is a process that has to be followed due to the litigation happy world that we live in.

When did it actually arrive at the factory?

Yes, it's been at the factory two weeks today. Truth is I don't really care so much about new surf gate; I didn't have any problems with the old one. I assume they'll just reuse all my parts on the new hull. I'm just hoping that they do quality work taking it apart and putting it back together.

Here's the update. My T22 has been up at factory in TN for over a month now. Guys up there have been great with weekly phone calls to update me on the build. Yesterday, they water tested her and they'll be doing full detail job today to wrap her up to ship home. Malibu team has turned my feelings 180'degrees. I had an unfortunate anomaly with the hull; guys tell me she'll be pretty much like new.
My dealer Tommy's has been great too. The Malibu they gave me for two month has at least kept us on the water the whole time. I for sure like my T22 more and can't wait to get her back to Florida. I'll report back when I pick it up next week. My three month ordeal may finally be over.

Tommy's, my dealer recommended that my T22 be sent to fiberglass specialist who assessed it and then reported condition.. My dealer went to the mat for me. I had a very unusual disbonding of the hull under the stringers. These things just shouldn't happen, but hey do from time to time. I'm glad Malibu stepped up. Hope it works out for you r33pwrd. Maybe try to do a conference call with your dealer and the technical & warranty manager at Malibu. He's a good guy and helped us.

As in what issues?

main things being stress cracks on transom, windshield not closing correctly and frame being cracked, Swim platform cracked badly. And a bunch of interior things. Nothing that stopped me from enjoying it this summer but the quality assurance team at axis should be fired.. I have found many screws missing, interior panels that where not installed correctly, screws under the seats that you can feel the tip when you stand in the right spot.

Mine is just stress cracks on the transom (all on the starbord side of boat) where the Swim platform mounts and the lift ring. Nothing that I think is a major issue just poor craftsmanship.
