Exactly John. My friend had his Moomba winterized and de-winterized by the dealer and they did not connect waterline to cool the motor and it did some damage after my friend noticed his bilge had been running for who knows how long. Upon opening the engine hatch he found the tools and shop towels the tech left in there. New motor for him too in the end.

tnvandall. glad to hear your dealer stepped up for you. A brand new power plant... nice. so now does your boat have 31 hours, or 0? :)

just wondering, why or who left that hose clamp loose? was it a clamp failure? was it loose from factory? did you have that winterized? if from factory, then they screwed up as well as your dealer for not checking over everything like they are supposed to.

anyhow, glad you will be on the water soon and hopefully it is trouble free.

haha, it is to be determined how many official hours we will go with. I bought the boat at the end of March from the dealer. The first time it had been on the water was when we test drove it. I'm assuming the mistake was made from the factory. The screw was just lose, the clamp slipped down on to the hose and I just pulled the hose back up and tightened the clamp down. (Multiple towels and t-shirts involved to prevent burns).

The experience sucks and who knows when I'll get the boat back but the dealer told me to come grab my loaner tomorrow while the repairs are taking place so I'm pretty excited to see what it will be! ;)

I would think the new ECM would had Zero hours. The hours is definitely not stored in the gauges. Glad it worked out.

This happened to mine also. I caught it the two times it did it. One at about 10 hours and the other right after 20 hour service.

I have over 30 hours on my boat and other then one time of sucking something up on the water inlet I have had no troubles. I am sure like everything there are boats built on monday and friday and will be a few issues out there. Hope you both get things straight and can enjoy the crap out of your investment. So far I have 0 regrets about mine.

Update: After 4 hours the following weekend of getting the new motor put in I took the boat to the dealer to get the oil changed just in case. (I live 15 minutes from my dealer so it's not bad). I took it out the following weekend and when I went to launch it well nothing happened. It didn't turn over, no display, nothing. I took it back to dealer. They found a loose ground from installing the motor quickly and fixed it. Went to pick the boat up for the next weekend... Pulled up to the dealership and saw the boat resting against the building. The boat had rolled or had been backed into the side of the building. Pretty serious scuff on the swim platform. Dealer said they would repair it. I took the boat out the following day on Saturday, put .5 hours on the boat and BEEEEEEEP (SERVICE REQUIRED!!!!) Instantly smoke comes out from the swim platform and gas and oil surface in the water. The boat was beyond choppy at idle just like last time. The boat is at the dealer with the ball in their court. If you read the history if this thread I have had the worst experience with this boat. I hate it because so much went into picking out the perfect boat and all the LEDS are installed and I can't even keep it running long enough during the day to see it at night. It is officially a lemon. Despite the loose ground and the backing it into the building I really do feel bad for the dealer as they have been supportive throughout the whole process trying to get my on the water every single weekend. Unfortunately, the boat I have is bad.

Little help Axis?

so are you going to try and claim this as a lemon through your states lemon law?? I just had to have my transmission replaced at 20 hours on my a22. Haven't had it out on the water since its been replaced. so fingers still crossed this will be my only problem i experience. Sorry for your problems but you def. sound eligible to file a lemon law case. and then you will have to make a decision on a brand new axis or your money reimbursed and you and Axis part ways. keep us posted man.

I would prefer to work something out with the dealer opposed to filing the claim through the state law; however it does apply at this point. I will keep you all up to date as it develops.

Hopefully you can get all the kinks worked out of you boat. These boats are a lot of fun and so far mine has been great. Sounds like you got a friday built boat.
