Got to test out the Fresh Air Exhaust yesterday. It drastically reduced engine/exhaust noise. Could listen to the radio at much lower volume than before when surfing and could easily talk w the person surfing without shouting at all. There was no change to wake or wave shape. Top end speed wasn't affected either. Checked all fittings and connections after pulling out of the water and everything was still rock solid. No loosening anywhere.

Did you purchase from freshairexhaust.com?

I bought it from Larry Mann the owner of freshairexhaust.com. At the time I bought it he didn't have a kit for Axis boats so contacted him directly. I took all the measurements he needed to fabricate one. He said it was very similar to the Malibu set up with the wedge. He was very easy to work with. I'm really happy w the results.

Just under $500. I honestly can't remember the exact price. We worked one out since he hadn't sold one for axis yet. I wasn't excited about dropping that much cash but I've got an 8 yr old that surfs and a 6 yr old eager to learn so for the lower carbon monoxide aspect it was worth it. Plus the noise reduction is an added bonus. He'll let you pay $200 down and then $49/mo there after so it made it a lot easier.

That's not a bad price. Would consider it if I did more surfing. So at 22mph, boarding behind boat- the difference is night and day?

It definitely cuts the engine noise quite a lot at boarding distance and speed. Music is heard clearer but then again I only have the MTX tower speakers and can't hear them very well anyway bc they're not great at projecting sound at distance. I'd imagine w a wetsounds tower set up (or equivalent) it'd make a huge difference. It does make a big difference for those in the boat while cruising at 22 mph. Can carry a conversation without shouting.
