I'd consider myself lucky that the 5' board didn't fall on the boat and cut the vinyl or put a mark in the gel.

Sounds like a wiggle issue. I've seen a few get lost off a bimini but normally not the Z5. Those seem to have one of the better systems to keep the boards attached.

Am I just old? Cause I never go over 25 unless the lake is glass. I just cant take the beating of the chop.

Same with me also.

If you choose to store your boards on the bimini, best practice is to store them in a manner that the fins are used to helped stop the board from slipping from under the strap.

Strap then fins forward and face up. Front strap behind the fins so they stop it from moving. That's how I've done it my whole life. Either surfboards to the beach on car and my boat. Never lost a board anywhere.

That seems ridiculously commonsensy now that you mention it....we always put them in from the back with fins in the rear, fins up.

I haven't put my surfboard on the bimini yet but always put two kneeboards. I strap them down with the front of the board just hanging over the front of the bimini and have gone over 30mph without problems. I too would recommend putting them as far forward as you can with the nose or fins hanging over the front.

My straps were to far apart and my 4'6" board blew out once. I had a second set of straps about a foot further back added.
