Hi there , I had to lower tower all the time to put in boat shed a real pain . So I set up A gas strut system & worked very well , can raise & lower with one hand .

I like it!

Only recommendation I could give would be to go with stainless struts.

Very nice setup! I have never lowered my tower thankfully but if I had to I would do this!

I'd love to see a solution like this on the newer style tower. I put mine down for the first time today and that thing is very heavy with the bimini and one pair of Rev8s.

Have some other photos , the gas strut is from a Caterpiller skid steer loader, Can get from any CAT dealer. The top mount is the Bimini mount rings , orded 2 from boat dealer & made up the bottom mount block with a threaded ball joint & bolted to tower. Should be Abel to set up a similar set up for the 2015/16 tower .

The gas strut part no is 153-2683 . I haven't got a part no for the lower ball joint that I used , was an old part sitting around the shed.
