There is no way I see that Velcro adhesive holding up over time being submerged in water.

Well Velcro on the side of my boat feels like a redneck solution so I figured a redneck type of price.......is there a duct tape upgrade? $750?

Unless the wedge makes a better wave than the platform style fixed gates I'd imagine the only people who will buy this are people who are not online and don't know alternatives exist.

It also comes with a few wedge plates to adjust to different boat hulls. If the boat has a tapper on the side this will keep the shaper even. It is going to work for a larger number of boats than the more specific platform attached gates.

I can see shop people grabbing these from the shop because they want to surf NOW and do not want to wait on getting a gate custom fit and shipped from another place.

If they sell I am sure this will not be the last release of it. It will probably go thru some changes.

The one thing I am curious about if it has less impact on steering than fixed platform gate since its further up on the hull. Less leverage? I can only turn around in one direction when my gate is on.

Imo it will be the same as all fixed ones..

I had a couple of buddies that went to Lake Ronix during Expo and they were running this thing on a Malibu and using the Surf Gate and the wave was even longer and still clean and big. They couldn't believe it. So, the market for this thing is all boats! Brilliant idea with how big surfing is now. As much as I hate surfing!! ha
