2015 Props

That's great info, can anyone explain what applications benefit from more or less cup?

mwilliams, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the different gear ratio between '15 and the older boats with a similar prop.

The lower the number on cup the more torque the prop will have. So, the 2315 (.105 cup) has a little less top end than the 2313 (.15 cup)

To be honest I had no idea that the 2015 Axis had a different gear ratio!?? I'm guessing it's going to be more torquey (pretty sure that isn't a word but, you know what I mean)!!???

The 2015 base motor is a 350hp PCM with 1.72:1 gear ratio. Prior years base motor was an Indmar 330hp with a 1.47:1 (I believe) gear ratio. If you got an upgraded engine the ratio may be different, but definitely more torquey on the base engines!

Great!! I'm taking it out on Sunday so, we shall see!!! Pretty pumped about more torque! I've ridden behind a bunch of G23s and G21s with the new 2:1 ratio and they plane off in seconds compared to the older models!!

When I talked to acme they mentioned the cup and the difference it makes but it was very subtle. I didn't even write it down because of how little it seemed to matter. The Wakemakers website even says that the "cup plays a fairly limited role in propellers for watersports boats."

It doesn't make as much of a difference as diameter and pitch.

Mercury prop slip calculator calculates 33 mph at 5200 rpm with a 12 pitch prop and 1.72 tansmission. The calculator is spot on for my setup so dont have reason to believe it be wrong.

I have a 15 a22 with the 1235 and about 30 hours on it. I run stock + 600s + wedge + 650 bow + 5 peeps. Around 3500 rpm for surf around 4000 for wakboarding. I'm Supposed to get a couple other props I'll post the differences when I get the props.

yes. it planes fairly easy
